About Us

Founded in 1968, the Kutch Madhapar Community in the UK has deep roots that stretch back to North London, where its early days were marked by community events held in local schools. Back then, just a few hundred attendees gathered, with the costs covered by passionate volunteers.

The organisation’s vision is simple: to create a space where people with ties to Madhapar Gaam in Kutch, Gujarat, India, could come together, celebrate their shared heritage, and build a social network.

Since those humble beginnings, the community has grown immensely, organising various events each year with thousands of participants attending.

Now, with over 2,000 membersโ€”adults and children alikeโ€”the organisation thrives as a self-sufficient entity. This evolution reflects the journey of both the community and its members, who have adapted as generations have lived outside Madhapar for many years.

One of our proudest initiatives is our cultural dance workshop, launched in 2000. It’s a vibrant and lively gathering that brings adults and children together weekly to celebrate our culture through movement.

In 2009, we expanded our activities further, launching the Madhapar Sports and Fitness Club, a year-round programme running every Saturday. It’s a hub of activity for all ages, offering something for everyone to stay active, connected, and part of this ever-growing community.

Since 1968, the Kutch Madhapar Community has grown from small gatherings to a thriving 2,000-strong network. We proudly preserve our heritage through cultural events, sports, and a strong sense of unity.
